I’m a week late posting this and it’s almost December but nonetheless my November Stitch Fix arrived, was tried one, per usual one item was kept and the rest went back. I have decided that I no longer want a 5/5 box. Simply because I can’t spend $300 a month on new clothes for myself. Not with two little ones, daycare and a mortgage! 🙂 BUT I still enjoy my monthly stitch fix, and as I tell my family and friends it’s my monthly gift to myself! (I work hard! I deserve a little fashion in my life right!)
Here’s what Stitch Fix is all about if you’ve never heard of it:
What is Stitch fix?
It’s a monthly box, with 5 fashion items (clothes or jewelry/accessories) that are hand picked by stylists. The box is delivered each month (on a day you choose)!
No time to shop or keep up with the latest fashions? No problem…Stitch fix will pick out clothes and ship them to your house!
It’s a mom’s dream really. My problem is I LOVE shopping, but in-store shopping has lost it’s luster, because bringing two little kids shopping is more stressful than anything. Which is why Stitch fix is a great fit for me!
You’ll start out by taking a quiz on which fashion styles you Love, Like, Dislike (you get the idea).
Then you’ll answer questions about your own measurements so the stylists can send you clothes that fit! (Which so far has been great from my experience). They also have petite options and maternity options! I WISH I would’ve known about this box when I was pregnant…it would’ve made clothes shopping so much more fun. Then you select the day you’d like your first shipment and bam! Your first fix on the way!
Once you receive your box, you have 3 days to decide if you’re going to keep an item or ship it back. I suggest keeping at least one item in every box, so you don’t lose your styling fee!
How much is it?
You will pay $19 a month for a “styling fee” but the best part is that ‘fee’ will be credited toward any items in your box that you want to keep.
That $20 monthly fee goes towards any clothes you purchase. If you don’t like anything you lose that $20. (Most people keep one item and sell it online if it’s really not them.)
If you keep all 5 items, you get 25% off the entire box!! (This makes everything more affordable for sure!)
You can also refer your friends and family and get a $25 credit toward Stitch goods!
OK so now you know! Here’s what my November box had:
In my note I was not specific at all. I just said I wanted the “BEST” of Stitch Fix right now. What’s super popular and hot! 🙂
The Street Level Huron reversible magnetic closure tote…really cute but I still sent it back. It was $58 and I’m not in need of a bag right now. The great thing about this bag is it was reversible! If you’re looking for one, Mod Cloth has one similar so check often for sales to see if the price goes lower 🙂
The Alice Blue Lucio Henley Blouse. I loved how this looked on, but it was very tight around my bust. I felt like I was going to rip it at any minute. A larger size would’ve been too long so I decided to send it back :(. I was torn on this one because it really is a year round top!
The Market & Spruce Alan French Terry Asymmetrical Zip Cardigan was one of the softest and comfiest cardigans I’ve ever tried on. It was an item I don’t really need in my closet but I knew if I sent this back, I’d regret it. SO THIS is my keeper. It’s adorable open or zipped up! And it was $68!! Kind of pricey but with my referral credit from referring a friend, It came down to $43, which I think it’s totally worth! I will wear this often! <3
My next item went back. The Level 99 Glenda Straight Leg Jean in black were not flattering on me. At. All. They completely gave me a muffin top…which really never happens with any pants so these went RIGHT back in the return pile! 🙁 Boo. I think I’m going to request no more pants, they never fit right and I feel like it’s a waste of a good item for me!
My last item was also hard to decide because it was an adorable poncho. I had this as my keeper for only $58 which is a great deal for how warm and adorable this is! Theeeennnnn I showed my husband and he told me I looked like I was swimming in fabric and that I looked like I was going to go hunting!? Right…that’s the last time I’m asking his opinion. He doesn’t know fashion! Whatever right! 🙂 So he ruined this adorable poncho for me and I sent it back :(.
I did good and made the right decision to only keep one item. Next month is Christmas so I should be spending my money on gifts for others…so my keep one item rule is still going strong!
Hope you enjoyed my latest Stitch Fix box and got some fashion inspiration! Until next month!! Hope you all had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. XOXO
