I’ve been blogging for fun for years. Recently I made the decision to REALLY take it more seriously. This means no more iPhone photos and a real focus on my photography. With high quality content you must have high quality photos! I didn’t know where to start…until I finally asked for advice from my photographer friends. Here are the recommendations that professional photographers have given me for my own at home photography studio:
You’re going to need a professional Digital SLR camera. I can’t give you any tutorials on this but there’s plenty of pins that teach you how to use a camera! What I can say is it’s the best investment in not only your blog but your families photography. This is the camera that I own:
Canon EOS Rebel T5 Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm IS II + EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Bundle Its currently on special for $499, originally $799! I paid $799 for mine a few years ago so this is a great deal!
You’ll need a place to take those photos. I have a few areas in my home like my wood floor that works, but to take even better photos invest in a backdrop!
Mohoo 5x7ft Photography Background Photo Backdrops Vinyl White Wood Floor Props for Studio only $18.49 on Amazon! Regularly $46.
Most people will want a plain white backdrop as well. I think it’s best to have options and multiple backdrops! 🙂 It’ll change the look of your posts and you can always use them for photo-shoots with your family!
Heavy Duty Muslin Clamps 4 1/2 inch 6 Pack
You’ll need something to clip your backdrops to! If you don’t own something that you can hang your back drop on, this set is a good option:
LimoStudio Photo Video Studio – 10Ft Adjustable Muslin Background Backdrop Support System Stand
Even with an amazing camera, if you’re shooting indoors you’re going to need some help with the lighting. These light umbrella will turn your home into a professional studio! The kits on sale currently on Amazon:
