SwimWays Swim Trainers – Finding Confidence in the Water

This post was sponsored by SwimWays as part of an Ambassador Program for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

Since I can remember, my now five year old has never been a fan of swimming.   Every time we go swimming he hangs on out on the stairs, afraid to move away from them. Even with assistance or floating devices.  He’s never really developed any confidence in the water, that was until this summer!

Swimming with a Floatee

We got him a SwimWays (Paw Patrol) Swim Trainer to help him find his sea legs!

I chose the SwimWays for many reasons. First, SwimWays is a industry leader in promoting water safety and helping children to learn to swim.  Second, the Paw Patrol Swim trainer life jacket is a U.S. Coast Guard-approved flotation device for kids from 30-50 lbs.  And third, Paw Patrol Swim Trainer Life Jacket is available at Walmart and it’s affordable for all! This kid’s life vest features a built-in chest and arm flotation designed for greater mobility in the water. The adjustable back buckle is convenient to parents for easy on and easy off, but is out of reach for kids so they can’t remove the vest on their own

A few weeks ago we started visiting our local pool and noticed a HUGE improvement in his confidence in the water.

He LEFT the wall and stairs!  I literally jumped for joy and yelled “YES”.  Lol.  It’s a HUGE step…for any mom’s with kids that don’t love the water, you can relate.

Swimming like a big boy

Initially he was hesitant as usual.  As soon as he saw that he was supported, and that he was swimming and staying afloat he squealed!  He was SO excited that he was going to be leaving the safety of the wall once and for all!

That day he spent the whole day in the water, with all the other kids playing games.  Throwing rings and just having some summer fun in the pool!  Like a kid should be doing! (Not on the stairs to attached to the wall).

Confidence swimming

Last week we started swim lessons and I put him in a lower level class since I knew (when I signed him up months ago) that he would have a hard time leaving the stairs.
On his first class the instructor asked if I’m okay with him moving up to the next level class!  He was ready for the next level since he had SO much confidence in the water!

PROUD MOMMY MOMENT!

I knew that thanks to the SwimWays Paw Patrol Swim Trainer, my five year old developed the confidence that he needed for SO many years in just a few weeks, thanks to his trainer!

Now when he goes to swim lessons he’s jumping in the pool and attempting swimming strokes with his instructor.  Something he NEVER would’ve done before.  I’m so very grateful for the SwimWays Swim Trainers and will spread the word to ALL the parents I know!
