With Holiday shopping in full swing these next few weeks, I’ve been working hard to find gift ideas for kids that are NOT toys!  I look at my kids toy boxes and rooms full of toys and can’t help but feel that they don’t need anymore…because really they don’t.  So I’ve compiled a list, of great gifts for kids that don’t need more toys!  Here’s 15 GREAT kids gift ideas that are NOT toys:

      1. Subscription Boxes – If you don’t know of any kids subscription boxes, let me tell you about them and WHY I think they make a perfect gift!  You can pick a subscription gift for a kid to be sent once or once a month for 6-12 months.  It’s the gift that keeps on giving Clark.  Some of my favorite kid friendly subscription boxes are Citrus Lane and Bluum Box for kids under 5.  Kiwi Crate and GreenKidCrafts for kids 3+, and Little Passports for kids 5+. These boxes will deliver a once a month box full of fun crafts and other learning supplies.  I’ve tried all of them and I LOVE them all!  (Read my post about 8 Subscription boxes you can get for FREE).FREE BOXES
      2. Classes – A gift card to the local YMCA or rec center for a class of your kids choice is a great gift to get your child active and social.
      3. A membership to a zoo, museum or even the local indoor play place.
      4. Movies – It’s not a toy and it encourages family time watching a movie together.  If you’re interested in giving Disney movies as gifts, consider joining the Disney Movie Club.
      5. Books – Hard copy books, not downloadable version.  Introduce young readers to classics that you love!

    1. Clothes and Play Clothes – Dress up clothes or everyday clothes are always a great gift.  Kids always need clothes!  And playing pretend is a favorite past time for all kids.

    3. Activities – Whether your particular child loves golf, laser tag, or bowling, giving them a gift card to one of these fun centers is a great way to get a kids out of the house to be active!
    4. Crafts – Boys and girls alike love to make crafty projects.  Buying craft supplies and kits from your local craft store is always a great way to foster creativity and hand eye coordination.  Consider the kiwi crate or green kids craft subscription boxes so a new craft delivers to your house monthly.
    5. Cooking  – May daughter loves to help us bake.  Most kids really enjoy helping their parents cook, so why now foster this interest and set a cooking date!kids cooking 2 WEB
    6. Food: Snacks and kids go hand in hand.  Why not put together a snack gift to put in their stockings.  Include snacks that you don’t usually buy as a special treat.
    7. Accessories: Like watches, necklaces and bracelets!  Kids love to tell time, a digital watch would be a great gift for any kid.
    8. Games – I’m not talking about video games!  I’m talking about board games 🙂 One of the best family time activities you can do with your kids. Puzzles are also a great option for spending time together! 🙂  (There’s some GREAT coupons out now for Games, click below to get them:

    9. Restaurant Gift cards:  Kids love going out to Dinner, Ice Cream and places like Chuck e Cheese’s.
    10. Magazines – The appreciation of holding a magazine and reading it is lost.  When I was a kid I loved to turn the pages to kids magazines and play games on the pages.  This might be a dated option, but for our computer loving digital generation…this might be a nice change of pace.
