Everybody loves a clean house! How you attain that clean house varies for everyone. I try to view cleaning as less of a chore, and more of a creative outlet to make my home unique, comfortable and a place of sanctuary!
My favorite cleaning products have fresh and fragrant smells. I personally use essential oils at home and tried to always make my own cleaning products from them. But alas, I felt like I didn’t know what i was doing (ha) and I started using store bought cleaners within a day or two. Hey, at least I tried right!?
Then I found Mrs. Meyers Clean Day® household products! All of their products are made with natural essential oils! It’s like someone read my mind and her name is Mrs. Meyers! Did I mention their products are phosphate free and never tested on animals? Yep, just another reason to love this brand!
Cleaning with a house full of kids and dogs is always a struggle. Dog odors, stinky (cute) kids and a husband all make this mama crazy when it comes to cleaning! Which is why I try to be creative in my attempt to clean.
I recently realized instead of telling my kids to “go play” I needed to start incorporating them in the fun! So like all kids love, I came up with a creative and fun game for our cleaning projects. Who needs a list when you have games! “YAY! Games!” (as my 4 year old daughter says).
Since Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® products are all natural, I never worry about my kids handling the products. (They never actually spray the product when they “clean” but they love to pretend). I always feel comfortable knowing I use a brand that contains ingredients you’ve actually heard of. Products that are good for the earth and your home!
- Lemon Verbena / Lavender Dish Soap: Rich, thick and makes grease disappear like nobody’s business. This concentrated lemon dish soap formula for hand washing dishes includes Soap Bark Extract, another ingredient from the garden that is one of nature’s best degreasers. Rinses clean. All you need is a squirt or two of liquid dish soap and you’re on your way.
- Lemon Verbena / Lavender Hand Soap: Contains aloe vera gel, olive oil and a unique blend of natural essential oils and plant derived ingredients to create a hard working, non drying, yet softening Lemon Verbena scented liquid soap for busy hands. Hands have never had it so good. Paraben free. Made in the USA.
- Lemon Verbena / Lavender MultiSurface Everyday Cleaner: Takes the basic formula of our All Purpose Cleaner and adds a special Vegetable Protein Extract, a naturally fresh spray for cleaning counters and removing odors from the kitchen and bath. Great on all nonporous surfaces such as finished wood and tile floors, countertops, walls, porcelain, bathroom fixtures, sealed natural and synthetic stone, and more. Made in the USA.
Tip: I find Mrs. Meyers at my local Kroger store, it’s always on the specialty end cap for natural and organic cleaning products. It never fails, every time I’m walking by this section, people are smelling the products! How could you not!? They smell amazing! See for yourself next time you’re in-store! 🙂
On to the cleaning game! Here’s what you’ll need:
- Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® products and other cleaning supplies (rags, broom, mop)
- Paper, Pen, Scissor, and a bowl.
Next, write down the cleaning projects that need to be done. My list includes dusting, wiping the window seals, cleaning the windows and of course vacuuming.
Put the list in a bowl and let the kids pick piece of paper out of the bowl.
Then assign them a task they can do to help clean for that project.
My daughter pulled ‘dust’, so I gave her the duster and she walked around “tickling” every area that was dusty. Picture frames, table tops, her brother, you name it. She loves this game and is actually becoming really good at it! Recently she began making her bed everyday on her own! I’m teaching her young people – and those healthy habits will hopefully stick! 🙂
To me, coming home to a clean house is one of the best feelings at the end of a work day. (Nothing is worse than coming home to a mess!) I try to think of cleaning not as something I need to do, but as something I want to do. I’ve not only figured out how to spend time with my kids while still being productive; but I’m also keeping my home clean, tidy and smelling amazing. I feel joy, pride and a sense of accomplishment when my home is clean. Don’t we all? Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® makes the ordinary feel enjoyable! (i.e. cleaning!)
Hopefully I’ve inspired YOU to try a product that is not only good for the environment but your home! What’s your favorite Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day® scent?
