St. Patrick’s Day Drinks: Sweet Green Champagne

St. Patrick’s Day Drinks: Sweet Green Champagne

St. Patrick’s Day is the one day of the year when everyone is Irish…or at least everyone thinks they are.

It’s a day of food, drinking and overall fun.  (What other holiday is it acceptable to pinch people!?)

In December I became border line obsessed with the easy cranberry champagne recipe that I shared on the blog.  Mimosas are one of my favorite drinks, so why not try and re-create them with a twist for EVERY holiday!!?

Sounds good to me!

If you’re a fan of sweet drinks, then this recipe is for you!  And did I mention it takes all of 30 seconds to make with only 3 ingredients?

I’m cheap and easy….err… that didn’t come out right… when it comes to drinking that is.  Wow I’m on a roll here… WHAT I’M TRYING to say is that I don’t like to hassle with lots of ingredients for one drink.
That can become expensive and really…I’m only going to drink 1-2 so why spend so much on ingredients?

Nonetheless…I love this drink and I think you will too!  (If you just want the ingredients here you go….If you wanna see pictures, keep reading!

Ingredients:

  • Midori liqueur
  • Chilled Champagne
  • Sugar (green food coloring optional for the sugar on the rim)

Directions:

Everyone will love these easy (great for St. Patrick’s Day) drinks! (I know me and all my friends did)….

Pick your favorite champagne glasses.  If you’re wanting to put the sugar on the rim, this is your first step.

We added green food coloring to the sugar and stirred it all together….and tada…green sugar!

Dip the rim of the champagne glass in water, or use lemon or lime juice.

Next dip the wet rim in the green sugar. Your rim should easily pick up the green sugar!

Now you’re ready to pour the champagne.

Add 3 parts champagne.

Pouring Champagne

Next add 1 part Midori liqueur

Midori + Champagne

Stir and you’re done! St. Patrick’s Day Drinks DONE!

Now you have a super easy and very yummy green cocktail to sip all month long.

ENJOY!

I would have never though to mix champagne and mirodi, but that sounds really good. I love midori in general, and I always made fun shots with it when I was a bartender.

I love Midori and that is such a great idea to mix it with champagne. I might try a dry champagne to lessen the sweetness.
