Pregnancy Induced Nausea Survival List

Originally I thought I was due Oct 3rd. Well I had my first doctors appointment last Friday and come to find out, that day was only day one of week 7!!! THAT was horrible news for a girls who is counting down to the end of the 1st trimester since she can’t function for more then an hour without feeling like she’s going to start shaking, vomit and cry. Guess my ovulation was later in the month and the baby is measuring only 7 weeks. I have another appointment in 3 weeks to make sure he/she is growing right on schedule so hopefully it is. I’m kind of worried. The ever so comforting nurse practitioner that did my check-up said “When the baby isn’t measuring the correct number of weeks we worry about miscarriage, BUT the heartbeat is strong so I’m sure everything is ok”. Gee, thanks….I guess. Just the words a first time mother wants to hear on her first visit.
In other news I’ve been on my ass all week. I’ve been suffering worse then I thought was possible with all day sickness. I can’t smell food, see food, or think about it. My diet consists of cream of wheat, bread, bread, and more bread. Zofran was prescribed to me and I’ve taken it a few times but it’s making me so constipated to top off the already upset GI tract and it only provides short relief so I’m not sure how much I’ll really be taking that.
Since the past week I’ve spent the majority of it in bed or on the sofa, I’ve compiled a list of how to survive (the best you can) with relentless nausea in the 1st trimester.

PREGNANCY NAUSEA SURVIVAL TIPS:
Here’s the list:

  • Peppermint tea,
  • peppermint candy,
  • lemon candy,
  • lemonade,
  • ginger ale,
  • perrier sparking water (makes you burp which helps),
  • preggo pops (which don’t help more then regular candy)
  • eating cream of wheat or toast,
  • 25mg of Vitamin B6 3x’s a day, zofran when needed,
  • ice chips,
  • cold rags, and
  • popsicles.

Here’s the first picture of the little stinker that making me so miserable:
