Pet Photo Contest from Evite + Pet Party Ideas

This summer, my dog is turning 8 years old!  I can’t believe how fast time is flying.  It was like yesterday when we rescued her from the doggie mill she was living at.  It was the summer we were married, and our lives have never been the same.  The laughs, love and wonderful memories she’s helped create are truly amazing.  Animals bring such joy into our worlds…am I right?! 🙂

Here she is….one spoiled (and super cute) puppy!  (She’s a mix between a Pomeranian and Pekingese)

I really wanted to do something special for her to celebrate her big day.  She deserves it!
Don’t laugh…but I want to throw her a dog birthday party!  After all, dogs are like people in our family.  They have human names, like Edward, Rocco, and Chloe. They deserve a special recognition of their birth and a celebration of how much they add to our lives.  Raise a paw if you agree with me!

I got my husband on board and decided it would be a small event with just a few friends and family, and of course their pets.

To start planning her Birthday, I sent out an invitation from none other then my favorite party planning website – Evite!  I’m not just sending any birthday invitation….I’m sending a special Pet Party themed invitataion!  (And its’ adorable!)

With so many card options that Evite has available, it might be hard to decide on a card for your special pet and their special day!  Browse around here and look for yourself.  If you’ve never planned a pet party, a few of the must have items for your guests include:

• Treats (depending on the animal, bones, jerkey, etc)
• Toys
• Massage stations (Where adults take turns rubbing and petting the guests!  Lol)
• Supplies on hand in case of accidents.  (cleaners, wipes, paper towels, doggy pads)
• Multiple water bowls
• Be sure the keep animals away from caffeine, chocolate, bones that splinter, grapes, onions and seeds from any fruits.
• Be sure to have a dog/animal movie playing in the background to set the mood
• Organize races between the pets for extra fun!  Everyone enjoys watching pets race!  (Big and small)
• If your party is in the middle of the summer, set out a baby pool for dogs to splash in!  (Be sure to have towels on hand if they’re coming back in the house!)
