April 2016 Income Report

Wow – April was a whirlwind for me!  I worked full time, finished up my first semester of my Master’s in Nursing program, started really working my ItWorks business and barely slept.  And now it’s MAY!  I’m not sure I like how fast this year is flying.

When I started my blog years ago (yes years) I wanted to connect with other moms.  Making extra income is a perk of blogging but not my main motivation.  I love reading the comments readers leave, I love connecting with people across the nation or even world!  Blogging is a real passion for me, and I’m loving every minute of it!   If you’re thinking about starting a blog…be sure your real motivation is not money!  You WILL burn out and you won’t succeed!  That’s my two cents on blogging! 🙂

Anyhow here’s what my April earnings on my little blog looked like! 🙂

Blogher $40
Sponsored post $70
Influence Central  $300
Shareasale $80
iConnect $75
USFAMILY $50 (Amazon GC)
TapInfluence $70
Social Fabric $50
TOTAL: $735

Expenses: Wow I really didn’t spend much on my blog this month! 🙁

Host:  Host Gator $8.95

Board booster:  $5

Total: $13.95

Total Income after expenses = $721.05

My income is down $338 from last month, but I can easily say my time was completely taken up by my Master’s work and my new business.  This month I’m going to really focus on increasing my traffic and writing less sponsored content.  I think I’ll see a decrease in May as I have decided to not accept a few campaigns already.  I accepted a campaign last month that completely did not fit my blog…and I feel like a sell out!  It’s not worth the pay if it’s not representing ME!  Lesson learned!  I’m also focused on growing my Pinterest traffic and have started using Board Booster to do so!  If you have any Pinterest tips I’d LOVE to hear them!!  I’m about ready to purchase a program to teach me to ways of Pinterest!

What are your blogging goals for the month?
